Just picked up a beautiful National in a Bentwood Case. Mint condition. I
was luck that
the person who owned it prior was nice enough to leave extra replacement
for the rubber bobbin winder and motor. The motor had a piece that I had
never seen
before. This machine threads entirely from the side nothing up front. The
needles are
very long. If any one has any information on this machine I would greatly
I also would be interested in extra needles for it and a manuel. Thanks

Subject: Singer Case

Hi Feathers!

I bought a Singer sewing machine case with no sewing machine in it however
did have two pieces to a sewing machine. I am hoping someone can identify
what machine goes in this case from the part numbers. Ready? Part #546123
and #546157, the first one is a bed extension and the other is the lint tray
that goes under the machine, like the 301 or 221 or 401 or well you get the
idea. The tray is plastic and light gray in color the bed extension is the
same color and a cast aluminum I believe. The case is in great shape, a 99
will fit right down in it. The top lifts on it like the featherweight case,
oh, I also put a 301 in it, it fits but I have cases for all of my 301
machines. I hope someone can help me with this mystery!!

TIA, Marsha

This Necchi Supernova Julia needs some work: hand wheel binds in one spot
at each revolution. It seems mechanical, rather than an old-oil-gunk-up
problem. Does anyone have a copy of the manual?

From: (Kitty Longo)

Can someone tell me if I got a good buy?
At an auction last nite, I got a sewing table for $23.00.
Has the measuring line on one side of table top.
Legs(wood, turned)fold up.
Bottom of table-top says:
Folding Table
Pat. June10, 1884
W.E. Eldred
---2 Lafayette Avenue
Brooklyn, NY

It seems to be in fairly good shape--has been cleaned a little--needs
more cleaning. There some cup rings on top, etc. Has casters on legs, not
sure how good they are. Should I replace them if necessary, or would that
detract from the value?
I still haven't found that FW(cheap) yet, but am still having a great
time looking. Maybe I'll go to another auction tonight.
Happy Hunting,

Kitty Longo

Thanks to whoever posted that lengthy list of http sites...I
spent the afternoon at the library cruisin' the net for many sites I'd
not found myself previously. Two little tidbits I learned today:
	1. the Featherweight attachments will fit my 185K (!)
	2. the model 66 is the "big brother" to the 99 series.
and I even found a picture of a 319W a the http://users.nbn.net/~jkbell
to tell my friend about who has recently come into a 319 & is trying to
figure hers out. Has a THICK manual.
Thanks, Featherweighters!

Happy Singering.

Subject: Need help With Featherwieght Cabinet

Hi Feathers!

I had the marvelous luck to get my hands on a FW table this weekend for $30,
but it needs some work...they had taken off the under-table that held the
machine, and nailed down the top tabletop. (am I making sense??), they removed
the spool shelf (no biggie), and they took out the parts box from the inside.
Seems i will have to cut a new inner top as well as attach a parts box back in
the left inside. I have a few questions for those of you that have a FW

1) Is the inner top made of solid maple or plywood??
2) Since the metal strapping is gone that held the machine, do you think I
could nail in blocks to hold up the machine??
3) Could I convince one of you to put a piece of paper (even newpaper would
work) over the hole and trace it for me???? I will reimburse for postage!!
Please, please???

The thing is in great shape..just dirty..and they did use L-brackets from
underneath when they nailed it on, so they didn't mar the tabletop. I really
didn't realize how lucky I was to get this til I was written by a couple of
I want to thank Alan for his help and Sharon Reese for taking the time to make
her wondeful web site (and again Alan for reminding me it was there!)
...she shows this table in great detail. For those of you not familar with it,

I lucked inot this thing at an antique show/flea market...it was being used as
a cheap display table and camping table! They had no idea what it was!
Thanks in advance!
