Hi All,
Well folks I got my self in a mess, this guy in Ca. called me(yes Ca.) wanted
a FW,I had the year he wanted but it was not in good shape,so he says how
much for the machine if I repaint it?I give him the price, and he says
ok,I'll put you a check in the mail tomorrow. Then he says I need the machine
before Christmas for a Christmas present for my wife, and says can you get it
shipped right out,and he starts telling me how he does business with G W and
a bunch of other people on the list.So I say sure I'll get it right out.

So time goes by and you guessed it no check. The phone rings and he says I'm
not happy with the machine,So I said the deal was if you didn't like it I
would take it back. Then he says, how about if I give you a hundred less and
keep the machine,I say no just shop it back.He gets mad and hangs up.I
waited a few days and ask some people his email address, and email him and
tell him I want my machine back.He calls again and says he lost my mailing
address, and is shipping the machine back.Time goes by and he sends me a
check for one hundred dollars less then agreed on.This time I tried to call
him,just got a recording,I did leave a message saying I wasn't going to cash
the check and wanted my machine back.

Now how would you handle it???????? I need all the help here I can get,any
lawyers out there??

I wrote Greg & Mary privately and
they told me who they were referring to. Now it's up to me to choose to
buy from this person or not.

Hi Feathers:

I do like buying Singer items off of ebay. I would appreciate it is
someone would email me and tell me who this bad seller that rips buyers off.
I have quit bidding on anything at this time.

       Thanks so much.

Subject: Regarding integrity of ebay sellers

You can pretty much tell what kind of merchandise and service you are
going to get from ebay if you take the time to examine a few things:

(1) what is the feedback... look at total remarks and the percentage of
negative or neutral, especially those logged in the past few months.

(2) see what kind of merchandise the Seller is offering. If you want the
nicest Featherweight around and the seller is into Hollywood
memoribilia, chances are that he/she hasn't a clue about condition, etc.
of FW's.

(3) ask questions.. evasive answers will tell you a lot about the
knowledge base at the other end.

(4) email Buyers who have bought items from same Seller to ask for
further explanation of questionable remarks.

Hope this helps. Ebay transactions make millions of buyers happy, only a
small percentage of auctions are duds. Be smart to avoid being caught in
the net. Millie
